A loyal client came with to us to help with her dark lower ground flat with damp. This was a complex project to manage involving: planning permission within a conservation area, Party wall, freeholders, damp specialists, building control and a tricky access. It was a back to brick, awful job to remedy the damp so, while we were at it, we moved the kitchen to a courtyard space and gained a double bedroom. The newly tanked walls were protected with stud walls clad in grooved panels. This continued over new joinery and storage with the same palette of materials and colours. The focus in the flat moved to the view outside with the new glazed roof and tall door.
