This was a complex project to manage and involved; planning permission within a conservation area, Party wall, freeholders, damp specialists, building control and a tricky access. It was a back to brick, awful job to remedy the damp so, while we were at it, we moved the kitchen to a courtyard space and gained a double bedroom.

The newly tanked walls were protected with stud walls clad in grooved panels. This continued over new joinery and storage with the same palette of materials and colours. The focus in the flat moved to the view outside with the new glazed roof and tall door.
