To start with the rear outrigger had a smallish kitchen with one window facing the side, a hall leading to a back door to the garden with a utility room and WC off it. They wanted to keep a utility room and separate WC lobbied off the kitchen.
The solution for this north facing well screened garden site was a glazed side extension. The glazed roof supported on exposed Ash roof rafters brings light into the central dining room of the house and abundant light into the kitchen and screened utility room.
The corner seating area looking out of the garden and also back at the space and faces a ribbed glass screen separating the utility from the kitchen. This screen wall becomes a feature of the space while concealing a laundry machines and a WC.
Wide Ash floorboards and ash trim to windows unifies the whole space where a lot of is going on and a lot of life happens.
The bespoke kitchen is made of painted ash veneered doors with unpainted ask inserts on the island. The kitchen is made by Beaumains and Lioness, the worktop is Caesarstone and the kitchen tap is Vipp.
