The Studio Colebrooke
The new build element of this project allowed us to create a kind of hidden studio behind the house.

Within the constraints of the planning permission we created double height space with views out over the garden and trees beyond.
The studio sits comfortably next to the main house yet has its own identity inside.
We used materials in a more contemporary way.
Birch ply was left lightly oiled, structural wooden beams left exposed, rooms were treated separately and clad in grooved panelling to sit as elements within the volume.
One does not have to be a creative working from home to realise that this unique space together with its private garden becomes a retreat within the city. It is a very special home.
